Cypress Lakes is an existing fly-in community that was established in 1996 to provide the convenience of having an airstrip within your community that allows you to taxi your plane right to your front door.
With a 2,700-foot grass runway and a community laid out to accommodate flyers it is truly a pilots dream. But what makes this community especially unique are the six lakes, one of which is a beautiful 65-acre lake, that can also accommodate takeoffs and landings of float planes. This lake was created in the mid 1950’s by the Daws Silica Mining Company while mining for the pure white sand in the area. This sand was transported around the southeast for all types of construction projects, as well as manufacturing eyeglasses.
Their mining efforts have left us with a unique shoreline that consist of coves, islands and peninsulas, that are surrounded by crystal clear water full of fish, waterfowl and lots of other wildlife.
Cypress Lakes Phase III is now under development by Donny Tuten, a local developer and businessman. We invite you to bring your own builder and custom floor plans or choose from a collection of ours to be built on any of the estate size home-sites in this gated community, which are now available.
